Hi!
I have experimented with many different art forms off and on for
the last 40 years while working as an architect in Portland, Denver and
Seattle, but it was not until the last few years, as I was approaching
retirement, that I began to paint more seriously (although I certainly
try not to take myself or my art too seriously). I was somewhat
surprised to find that others enjoyed my work as well, which gave me
the impetus to show my paintings publicly for the first time several
years ago and I won some modest acclaim in my first two showings. This
gave me the encouragement I needed and the rest, as they say, is
history.
Most of my current work is inspired by the traditional art
forms of indigenous peoples from around the world, especially the art
of the Kuna-Yala people of Central America, and the Australian
aboriginal people. I am still learning something new with every new
painting, and I can see my art changing and, I hope, growing over
time.
I set up this site primarily so that my friends and
family could see what I have been doing. Please excuse the quality of the photography. I do it myself, and sometimes it is not quite up to what I would like it to be. Please contact me if you have
any questions or comments about any of my paintings.
